A lovely Georgian gem in upper Claremont needed a touch of rejuvenation in time for Spring!
My clients had already spent three years in their home and were ready for a stylish refresh that offered a more cohesive design language in their living spaces.
I was called in to create an elegant and connected interior. Offering layered contrasts, a better flow, whilst working with the gracious lines of the existing house. With a blend of old and new, we introduced some contemporary elements whilst working with their existing art and objets, with some new suggestions as well: introducing the new colour palette weaving shades of nutmeg, cinnamon, forest green and warm berry through the fabrics, the bespoke furnishings and wall treatments. This, together with the new oak flooring and accent lighting all helped to enhance and bring the overall design together.
A key factor when designing the layout of the spaces and furnishings, was to focus on styles that not only were supremely comfortable but also reflected both the lines of the house together with their family’s lifestyle and needs, all carefully balancing and contrasting with each other, making a beautiful design statement. Apart from the interior there were a number of cosmetic ‘repairs and fixing’ that needed attending to. This was all meticulously timed ahead of the installation of the new interiors.
All the before photo’s can be viewed at the end of this project.
The Dining Room/lounge – a previously unused space was totally revamped with new furniture, new engineered oak floor, lighting and wall accents.
The Guest cloakroom Our starting point had a very neutral feel, with a dated oversized basin. With beautiful new accent walls and a new sleek vanity and basin, it now offers a more welcoming and efficient use of the internal space that says ‘hello…come inside’!

The TV lounge in the kitchen – this space really needed some remodelling to improve the scale and flow. A new custom sofa was designed and manufactured which allowed for an effortless flow to this room. The new fabric selections and colour palette, now weave a beautiful connection throughout. From the dining to tv kitchen lounge, Guest cloak and to the exterior terrace.
The Outside Terrace – All of their outside furniture was reupholstered with the russet red fabrics, walls were all repainted and the space was slightly reworked to feel a little less cluttered.

The pantry cupboards had an upgrade with new rattan inserts adding a touch of contemporary.

What Our Clients Say
Last year, we decided to rejuvenate our home in Claremont (as she is quite an old lady and needed a bit of care, as well as a few new looks in some of the living areas).
I worked with Sue of Mint Designer Renovations, thanks to a recommendation from someone on this site. She and her team have been such wonderful partners in the renovation of our home, ranging from fixing some cracks, painting, new wooden floors, to customised furniture and wallpaper which has created a fresh new look and feel. I really enjoyed the experience and it was great to work with someone who was emotionally committed to the project, delivered on time every time and brought much experience and expertise to what was a pain-free renovation, which is not often the case. So, sending virtual flowers to Sue and her very professional team.
Sue Lloyd-Roberts heads up a hands-on, committed team of dedicated professionals who tackle Mint’s projects with respect, energy and knowledge that make the entire process run smoothly. The team’s complementary skills create a synergy that can partner your own approach and turn your vision into reality.
